About Teaching House
Since 2006, Teaching House’s team of trainers has grown from one full-time trainer and one freelance trainer to 10 full-time trainers – including 4 CELTA assessors - and a dedicated group of regular freelance trainers from around the world.
This is one of the largest and strongest groups of CELTA trainers assembled, and they work hard to develop the CELTA brand. Teaching House runs around 30 courses a year in three formats: full-time (4 weeks), part-time (10 weeks) and semi-intensive (6 weeks).
Teaching House has developed a very strong CELTA course and produced virtually every conceivable document, assignment, input session handout and teaching practice point that we could think of. These documents are continuously being edited and improved. We also produce a ‘CELTA Handbook’ which is given to trainees on Day One of the course. This handbook, at around 100 pages, is a collection of important course information, assignment rubrics and examples, teaching practice lesson plans and language analysis sheets as well as teaching practice observations forms. The handbook is the cornerstone of our CELTA course and constantly edited to keep it up with Cambridge criteria and improved with continuous course feedback from trainers and trainees. With an enrollment over nearly 1500 trainees, Teaching House has extensive experience of dealing with student issues, concerns and complaints.
